Goodbye Alaska

 Monumental mountains are towering over us wherever we go in this state with a population of less than a million.  Alaska is bigger than California, Texas and Montana combined.  The scenery is breathtaking everyday, even in the rain showers again today.  Five eagles gracefully floated by during our walk to and from Cemetery Island.  This is the view before we entered the Cemetery Island Trail.  Many Tlingit people are buried on this island.
                                                          This totem pole honors their dead.

 I love trees.  The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate - Discoveries From a Secret World by Peter Wohlleben is an enlightening book that can change one's perspective about our planet.
                                                        Craig, Alaska - population 800.

We walked into town for lunch at TK's Cafe in the Craig Inn.  Our hosts were all "Welcome to Alaska!".  They seldom get passengers from the cruise ships who will walk that far to such a small village.  After fresh halibut sandwiches and homemade soup, we walked across the street for coffee and conversation with the owners at J T Brown's General Store.

Too bad it wasn't for sale.  We wouldn't even have to change the sign.  The hotel includes a restaurant so we could have jobs for the entire family.   Alaska is one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Falling In Love In a Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg is dedicated to two people in love who we love and met each other for the first time in a coffee shop - Justin and Kavita;
I think that possibly, maybe I'm falling for you
Yes there's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you
I've seen the waters that make your eyes shine
Now I'm shining too

Because oh because
I've fallen quite hard over you

If I didn't know you, I'd rather not know
If I couldn't have you, I'd rather be alone

Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond is dedicated to two people in love who we love and fell in love singing this song together in a karaoke bar - Marji and Mike;

Where it began
I can't begin to know whenBut then I know it's growin' strongWas in the springAnd spring became the summerWho'd have believe you'd come along?
HandsTouchin' handsReachin' outTouching me, touchin' you
Sweet CarolineGood times never seemed so goodI've been inclinedTo believe they never would
