Huahine

 Huahine Island is one of the islands of Polynesia and this was one of our views today at our Motu picnic.  There are few locales on earth more scenic than being on a tiny motu (islet), surrounded by glistening sand, translucent turquoise waters and swaying palm trees.

There was no dock so ukulele players and a djembe player welcomed us as we waded ashore from the boat.  Polynesian islands are a tropical paradise.  We were served lunch on picnic tables in the shallow water.

 Antarctica was the most beautiful place on earth.  Now, it is French Polynesia.  For those who know me, I live in the moment.  Most often my favorite is where I am at that moment.

Married for more than 52 years, I feel like all my favorite love songs have come true.  This song sung by Mary Chapin Carpenter and released 26 years ago is one of my faves that has come true;

Grow old along with meThe best is yet to beWhen our time has comeWe will be as one
God bless our loveGod bless our love
Grow old along with meTwo branches of one treeFace the setting sunWhen the day is done
God bless our loveGod bless our love
Spending our lives togetherMan and wife togetherWorld without endWorld without end
Grow old along with meWhatever fate decreesWe will see it throughFor our love is true
God bless our loveGod bless our love

  1. Looks like abundant sunshine. Are you staying protected? These photos are such a nice reprieve for the imagination here in gray Ohio. I can almost imagine those ocean breezes, swaying palms, and bath-like water… ahhh…
