Pago Pago
American Samoa where a large chorus of singers and dancers celebrated our arrival at the dock.

Our guide.
Samoa has a very deep port and is a strategic territory for the U.S. but lacks tourism and prosperity. These are typical houses. Land is owned by generations of the same family so the houses are often clustered to include extended family members. Many bury their dead on their land and tombstones can be seen in front yards. The family cemetery is located beneath the small roof in the lower left corner.
