Never Blame the Rainbows For the Rain

 Rainbows appear frequently while we're at sea.  The deep blue sea covered by a big blue sky.  Rainclouds drift overhead and they often carry rainbows with them.  Sometimes the cloud will drop rain onto our ship and other times the rain falls in the distance.  Rainbows still make us stop and appreciate their colorful wonder every time they appear.

When we were in the Antarctic straights on our way to Easter Island, many deceased loved ones visited me in my dreams nearly every night and I would have vivid recall of my dreams.  It was unusual and left me to question why this was happening.  On Easter Island, we learned the Moai statues were all erected facing inward to protect the islanders from evil spirits.  The Rapa Nui believed upon their death, their spirits drifted to the ocean.  That was their version of heaven.  Probably just a coincidence?

The Moody Blues sang the song shown in my blog title and here are some of the lyrics;

The beat of my heartThe rhythm of loveThe earth that's beneath usThe heavens aboveI can hear foreverCalling out to meThe changes we go throughAre making me strongThe shelter of friendshipIs where we belongLook into the futureKnowing what we see
The whirlpool of doubtCan spin you aroundThe wave of emotionTakes you upPulls you downLeaving far behind usSweet young passions spray
Never blame the rainbows for the rainAnd learn to forget the memoriesThat cause you painThe last whispered wish of ageIs to live it all againSo never blame the rainbowsNever blame the rainbowsNever blame the rainbows for the rain
