Suspended in Splendor,


 Our last day in the splendor and grandeur of Antarctica.


Antarctica may be the most beautiful place on Earth.  There are many other locations that are just as picturesque, just as compelling.  However, the vastness and seemingly never ending variety of stunning sights encompassing an entire continent- WOW!!!

Closer To Home

Our voyage began in Miami, Florida This week, I've been dreaming about our adult children, Marji and Justin, as children and our dog, Shannon, in our previous home.  I've also dreamt about our children, grand children, Grace and Caroline. and cat, Chef, in our current home.  I know their spouses are in there somewhere. Last night, we enjoyed dining with two New York City attorneys, Mary and Mellard.  Mary works for the prosecutor's office specializing in political fraud, bribes, etc.  She is fearful she might not have a job when she returns home?!?!😬 Today was our roughest sea day. so we spent most of the day in the supine position.  We felt like drunken sailors when we tried to walk.  I even did the Smitty Shuffle once.   The Statue In memory of School Children and Teachers at Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, dedicated to children and teachers who died from the Nagasaki atomic bombing.   50th anniversary sculpture by Naoki Tomenaga in Hypocenter Park    "Embodied in the monument is the sculptor's reminder that the child is like Japan on the day of the atomic bombing, while the mother represents the support provided by the countries of the world in Japan's efforts to build the peaceful nation that it has become today."    It also reminds us that approximately 70% of the victims of the bomb were children, women and senior citizens.   Ground zero, where the bomb exploded nearly one thousand feet above this site, killing more than 70,000 people.  The museum shows the devastation, scorched earth and charred bodies.   Man's inhumanity to man  Makes countless thousands mourn! - Robert Burns The museum and peace park remind us- Never Again!
