One More Day With You


As I've written previously about gazing at the ocean when I was younger, I wondered, now I reflect when my eyes are mesmerized by the endless rolling and constant motion of the waves.  We are at sea today and for some tine, we were enveloped in fog.  The ship's foghorn blew on schedule to warn anybody in our path and to remind me of the uncertainty that remains in the years remaining in my life.  As a result, I am again humbled by the love that has defined my life.  Our family (and I hope yours) is our greatest blessing.  It all started with Ruth Ann and me which brings forth one of my all time favorite love songs,  I have many all time favorites including, So Low by Kyle David Watts.  One More Day by Diamond Rio is the song that affects me most strongly today in the waves and the fog;

Closer To Home

Our voyage began in Miami, Florida This week, I've been dreaming about our adult children, Marji and Justin, as children and our dog, Shannon, in our previous home.  I've also dreamt about our children, grand children, Grace and Caroline. and cat, Chef, in our current home.  I know their spouses are in there somewhere. Last night, we enjoyed dining with two New York City attorneys, Mary and Mellard.  Mary works for the prosecutor's office specializing in political fraud, bribes, etc.  She is fearful she might not have a job when she returns home?!?!😬 Today was our roughest sea day. so we spent most of the day in the supine position.  We felt like drunken sailors when we tried to walk.  I even did the Smitty Shuffle once. First Date

 Thursday, March 23, 1972 was our first date where we dined at Wally's Roast Beef in South Zanesville, Ohio.  We munched on roast beef sandwiches, deep fried mushrooms and milkshakes.  I was 19 and Ruth Ann was 18 years of age. This blog isn't about our world cruise so skip it if you're not interested in how Ruth Ann and I met.
