Food Fight
This photo shows a small portion of the largest outdoor market in South America, Ver-O-Peso.
Another day at sea and it is a fight to restrain ourselves from eating too much food. It seems there is tempting food everywhere all the time on board this ship. Tonight's dinner included a delicious dessert of "Floating Meringue". Our dessert critic writes; Ile Flottante- A Floating Island of French Meringue, Pink Praline, Creme Anglaise. This is a modern presentation of a classic delectable French dessert (talking to you Bill and Debra)..
When we dine we have discussed our favorite Cincinnati chefs, Julie and Jose along with cooking weekly dinners for our family. Our discussions have also included our financial advisor Jeff and his assistant, Michele, who helped us reach our goals to make this trip possible. We think back over the last 25 years of Ruth Ann's practice and recall all the good work and important friendship Steve and Sandy provided for us.
We have enjoyed the days at sea much more than we thought we would enjoy them. We walk one hour every morning, stretch and lift weights regularly while finding this time to be very relaxing.
The idea of writing a blog was inspired by our friends, Doug and Carol. When they retired several years ago, they sold their home and traveled the United States in a motor home for five years. Doug often wrote about their adventures on Facebook. I had periodically thought about keeping a diary during the first seven decades of my life but never got around to it. Here I am finally taking the time to write and sharing my thoughts with anyone who cares to read them.
When you were young and gazed out over what seemed to be an endless ocean, did you often wonder about your future and what life had in store for you? I did. Now, as I gaze upon the endless sea, I recall what life has given me and feel immeasurable gratitude for the people I love and who love me.
Tomorrow we arrive in the capital of Pernambuco, Brazil- Racife.
I love this. ๐
